Warranty Details

MERIDIAN AUTO PARTS (hereinafter called MAP), warrants to the original purchaser, that each remanufactured auto part sold by MAP shall be free, under normal use, from any defects in material and/or workmanship, subject to the following terms and conditions:

DEFINITIONS: AUTO PART: As used herein, the term auto part shall mean: a remanufactured auto part supplied by MAP.

TERMS: 1. Unless otherwise noted on original invoice, the auto part warranty term shall be the duration of the original purchaser's ownership of the vehicle; or in the case of an extended warranty company, the duration of the extended warranty contract. At no time shall this be for a term of less than 12 months. The warranty is not transferable. 2. In the case of a drive axle or rack & pinion auto part, the boot warranty term shall be 6 months from the documented date of installation. 3. If the optional labor warranty is purchased, the labor warranty term shall be 12,000 miles or 12 months from the documented date of installation, whichever occurs first.

AUTHORIZED REPAIR: All repairs and/or replacements covered by this warranty must be authorized by MAP prior to making any repairs. Payments will not be made for any unauthorized repairs and/or replacements. If the optional labor warranty is purchased, the labor shall be reimbursed at the documented shop rate and based upon the Motors Book repair time except as follows: 1. Meridian supplied Jaguar rack & pinion units shall be reimbursed at the documented shop rate and based on the Jaguar factory warranty time. 2. Meridian supplied automatic transmissions shall have a maximum limit of $500.00 over the life of the warranty. For all other Meridian supplied auto parts, this labor amount shall not exceed a maximum limit of $250.00 over the life of the warranty.

STANDARDS: Subject to limitations contained herein, MAP at its option, shall repair or replace the auto part within the warranty term subject to MAP's approval, without charge to the owner/user.

LIMITATIONS: This warranty applies only to the auto part supplied by MAP. This warranty shall not apply to, or include any of the following: 1. Repair or replacement required as a result of any accident, misuse, road hazard, tampering or disassembly. 2. Any MAP auto part used for competition or related purposes. 3. Any MAP auto part used on an off-road or fleet vehicle. 4. Any MAP auto part which has been repaired or remodeled by any person other than an authorized installer, or to which any device or accessory not conforming to O.E.M. specifications have been installed. 5. Any MAP auto part on which the periodic maintenance services required by the original manufacturer have not been performed. 6. Any MAP auto part failing as a result of failure to replace a different faulty component or failure to flush power steering system thoroughly before installation. 7. Warranty shall not apply to ANY repairs and/or replacements not authorized by MAP.

LIMITED LIABILITY: The liability of MAP under this warranty is limited solely to the repair or replacement of the defective parts. The liability of MAP under the optional labor warranty, if applicable, is limited solely to the labor charges for the authorized removal of the original MAP auto part and installation of an authorized replacement auto part as described above. MAP shall not be liable for any incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for any service not expressly provided for herein, relating to or arising from MAP products. Examples of excluded charges are labor time for alignment, fluids, and rental car reimbursement.

LIMITED WARRANTY: This warranty is given in lieu of all other warranties, expressed or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, of fitness for a particular purpose, on the part of MAP, or the dealer installing the MAP product. No dealer, nor any agent or employee thereof, is authorized to extend or enlarge this warranty.
